I was honored to be the conference artist for the KY MTA this year, and given the opportunity to present not only the Smackdown but also my Stage Fright lecture. This was the most lopsided results yet, of all the Smackdowns so far, with the first and last rounds really making it the decisive victory that it was for Prokofiev. An added detail for this particular Smackdown was the pianist/not pianist question. Looks like Pianists had a greater appreciation for Debussy over non-Pianists, although both camps voted overwhelmingly for Prokofiev. I’ll be sure to add that question to future ballots
