La Junta CO Schools

I was so pleasantly surprised in La Junta, with the focus and concentration of the La Junta students, and with the resources for music at the Otero Junior College. As with other students outreach programs with large numbers of students, it is impractical to have each individual student fill out their own ballot, so the voting is public (hand-raising) and therefore subject to some peer pressure. In general, I would say that influences the vote towards Prokofiev, but there are other factors at work as well: time of day (evening tends to favor Debussy), age (under 20 tends to go for Prokofiev 2 to 1). From that perspective, the students at La Junta are even a little more Prokofiev-crazy than most places! 3 to 1 for Prokofiev, and even Round 2 goes for Prokofiev.
