If you’re going to work like a madman, might as well do it in San Diego, where the weather is almost always pleasant and beautiful. And also might as well do it at the MTAC conference, where the participants are enthusiastic, and the collegiality is warm. Among the 5 presentations I did in the space of 2 days, one was the Classical Smackdown program. And a very significant one - with an unquestionable win for Prokofiev, putting him on par with Debussy, not only in number of concerts, but also overall votes for the entire year
