Before you get outta Dodge, you have to get into Dodge! I did by driving 7.5 hours from Lebanon MO and playing the evening concert. The piano was a very unusual and challenging Knabe concert grand. The audience was warm and enthusiastic. And the vote was about as close as it could get - one vote made the difference, and it went to Debussy! Interesting details below the surface - ages under 20 went Debussy, 20-40 went Prokofiev, 40-60 went Debussy, 60+ went Prokofiev! Our youngest voter ever (3 years old) attended tonight. And tomorrow I play for 900 school kids! Looking forward to that result!
