This was a symbolically and statistically important event, since the Debussy/Prokofiev Smackdown started at Mohonk exactly one year ago in Mohonk, and one year later we find that Debussy and Prokofiev are in a dead heat, having “won” 7 concerts each throughout the season, and garnered almost exactly the same number of votes: 46.1% to 45.9%!! A large audience voted enthusiastically, and the final results hung on a 4 vote difference!

There was a little taste of a Chopin/Liszt Smackdown as an encore, but everyone seemed excited by the next official matchup: Bach vs. Philip Glass! See you next year for that one!!
